Gov. Dennis Daugaard announced today that Onida has been chosen to be South Dakota’s Capital for a Day on Thursday, Nov. 3.
"I look forward to the Onida event, and thank community leaders for offering to host it," Gov. Daugaard said. "It’s an excellent opportunity for me to get better acquainted with them and more informed about local issues and the future of the Onida area."
The Governor and a small delegation of state officials will tour Onida and have a roundtable meeting with business and community leaders. There will also be a coffee and constituent-outreach hour later that day.
"We consider it an honor and a privilege to be South Dakota’s Capital for a Day," said Onida Mayor Gary Wickersham. "We look forward to showing Gov. Daugaard and his staff how the people and businesses in the City of Onida grow and prosper."
A complete agenda will be released at a later date.
