The SB Charger golf teams traveled to Faulkton for the CSDC golf tourney. A cold, wet, dreary day made for an unpleasant day but SB golfer Kara Huse found it to her liking as she shot a round of 89 good for a 1st place finish. Teammate Lauren Wittler struggled on the front 9 and shot 101 for 6th. Seventh grader Lydia Hill finished in 14th at 135. The team finished just four strokes behind champion Faulkton.

On the boys side Devan Klevan finished 6th at 91, Nick Wittler 10th at 98, Lincoln Jordre 12th with a 107, and Payton Peery 15th at 131. The boys finished 3rd behind Faulkton and Potter County. Noah Cunningham was the boys medalist shooting 81 and winning in a one-hole playoff with Miller’s Austin Boomsma.

Next up will be the Pre-Region meet at Hillsview in Pierre on May 14th and Region play at the same location on May 21st. The Chargers will send three girls and five boys on the 14th, who will compete for the four spots for Region play.

Coach Pool added these comments, "I am so happy for Kara. She has been working hard to become a better golfer and today despite the conditions she played some of her best golf. Lauren had a bad front nine but came back strong on the back. Lydia continues to improve and also improved from the front to the back nine. I hope we show up on the 21st and get at least four golfers on to State. If we shoot well this number could go up to six."
