Kevin Heath and Bobby Ramler were named 2019 Firefighters of the Year.

In two senses of the word, the Onida Fire Department celebrated a double Firefighter of the Year recognition.

As an indication of the esteem they are held by their comrades in firefighting, Kevin Heath and Bobby Ramler were named 2019 Firefighters of the Year and were awarded firefighter axes that had been painted by former OFD member Trevor Lightfield. Additionally, Kevin received the axe he earned when he was named Firefighter of the Year in 2014.

It was the third FotY award for Kevin since he was bestowed the honor previously in 2004 and 2014. Bobby received his first FotY award in 2010.

The FotY recognition was the highlight of the Onida Fire Department’s annual ‘Ladies Night’ celebration in which the department thanks their spouses, local governing boards and other supporters for their contributions to the department throughout the year.
