Downtown businesses Crazy B’s Tees and More and the Blue Goose Sports Pub are combining to sponsor a poker walk fundraiser to raise monies for the 100th Sully County Fair in 2022. Step off for the walk is at 2:00 p.m. this Saturday from the Crazy B’s.

Crazy B’s co-owner and Blue Goose bartender Kim Wickum says that after the success of the chili cook-off fundraiser held in the backyard of the Blue Goose in February, she was looking for another opportunity to put on a fundraising event.

“We wanted to do something, and when the pandemic hit, we looked for something where the community could socialize while keeping their social distance and also get a little exercise,” said Kim.

The theme of the walk is ‘Walking our way to 100 years.’ “We’re hoping to have 25 or more sign up to do the walk,” said Kim. “We’ll draw the first card at the Crazy B’s. There are three stops along the route of the walk, which is less than a mile, and each participant will be dealt another card for their hand at each stop. We’ll deal the last card of the poker hand at the Goose.”

After the last card is dealt, prizes will be awarded to the top three winning hands. Walkers will then be served a cookout meal of hotdogs and chips.

The cost to enter the poker walk is $20, and registrations will be accepted through Friday evening, June 3. Contact Kim 605-280-9319 or Rory 605-280-6023 with questions and to register.
