Tonight, Thursday, September 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the main gym, the student body’s selection of who will reign over homecoming week as Emperor and Empress will be revealed. The court for next week’s homecoming festivities has been announced with emperor candidates Collin Bradberry, Jesse Schall, Griffin Petersen, Dwight Kinney, and Jordan Schall and empress candidates Mallory Wiley, Kaelie Keiser, and Tailynn Bradford. Seniors Joe Fanger and Darion Osterkamp will emcee coronation. Burning of letters will follow at the rodeo arena at the fairgrounds.
Students will spend Friday morning building their parade floats, and then the 31st annual Olympian Games will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
The theme for the homecoming parade is The Great Outdoors. Businesses entering a float should line up for the parade at 2:15 p.m., and the parade will commence at 2:30 p.m. proceeding up 8th Street to Ash Avenue, along Ash to Main Street, and back down Main.
Kickoff for the homecoming football game versus the Stanley County Buffaloes is at 7:00 p.m. at the football field.
Homecoming week activities conclude on Saturday with the junior high and junior varsity football teams playing in the Gettysburg Jamboree at 9:00 a.m. The volleyball team will travel to Philip for the tournament play, first serve at 10:00 a.m.
