Joined by Onida Fire Department members, Onida lifeguards simulated a neck injury and rescue.

For their regular training night last Tuesday, June 14, members of the Onida Fire Department joined this summer’s Onida Swimming Pool personnel in performing simulated rescues and responses to water emergencies.

The training served as a refresher for the emergency responders, and they also established logistics for responding to an actual emergency.

Pool manager LaJena Gruis says that lifeguard training and simulated emergencies will be ongoing throughout the 2022 swimming season.
