Accompanied by the Charger Horse, Secondary Principal Jeremy Chicoine, driving, and Elementary Principal Amber Mikkelsen, led ABO staff members on a parade through the streets of Onida and Blunt.

At the start of their third week of being separated from their students, a Facebook post announced that ABO staff would parade the streets of Onda and Blunt in order to see their students whom they miss.

“We miss you so much,” called Elementary Principal Amber Mikkelsen from the convertible she rode in.

Although the parade was a short five minutes in duration, it eased the sorrow of two weeks of being separated by social distancing.

With the directive from Governor Noem that schools remain closed, the district has stepped up its distance learning activities with hopes that school will resume at the beginning of May.
