Led by the senior leadership of Aspen Heath, Kenean Johnson, and Kari-Anne Lyons, the One-Act performance of At the Frog Fountain, by Werner Trieschmann will take the audience to a college campus where the ill-famed fountain serves as a place where scenes of love—and romantic breakup—take place. The play will be performed for the community on Monday, January 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sully Buttes High School gym.
The fountain is where a mysterious, but fun-loving character overhears the anguish of a girl, who finds incriminating evidence against her boyfriend on her phone. It’s where we see two young actors, who are closer to star-crossed enemies than lovers, rehearse for their big role. The Frog Fountain is also the meeting place for a young band as they try to navigate the rough world of rock bands that don't happen to be talented, as well as where a certain fraternity meets with its new pledges. And although it is rumored to be torn down, everyone who comes across the Frog Fountain leaves with certain memories. By the play’s end, the Frog Fountain gurgles on, and who knows…someone might even find a real-live frog.
Other cast members include Lydia Hill, Taryn Kenzy, Saige Heath, Blaine Duffel, Mily Vasquez, Adeline Forgey, Adrianna Osterkamp, Natalie Miles, Harper Goble, Adrian Gruis, Sydney Vincent and crew members Trinity Kenzy and Addison Chicoine.
Due to a change in Class B Regional alignments, this year's One-Act performance will be Wednesday, January 22 at 10:00 a.m. at the Riggs High School Theater in Pierre.
