Since last Monday, June 22, a painting crew from Alabama has been in Agar painting the watertower.
A fixture on the Agar skyline, the light bluish-green tower was first primed, and then it received its new color scheme, a white body with blue-green accents.
One of the last steps in refurbishing the tower is re-attaching the weather vane, a unique feature of the tower, to the pivot at the top.
Construted in 1926, the tower is coming up on a century of use.
According to Agar Finance Officer Peggy Mundt, painting the tower has been in the works for about a year.
