Charryel Schreiber, 89, of Pierre passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre.

Charryel Lytle was born on October 22, 1931 in Onida, SD to George and Mildred (Carton) Lytle. She grew up in rural Onida in east Sully County. She attended country school and graduated high school in Onida. She lived most of her life in the Onida, Pierre and Agar areas.
Charryel married Walter Schreiber in 1952 and together, they had four children. Charryel and Walter divorced in 1982.
She spent her adult life as a full time mother and homemaker. She was an organist at the Blunt Methodist Church for years. She was a member of the Cowbelles of the SD Stock Growers Association. She also enjoyed square dancing and was a part of the Circle 8 Square Dancing Club. Charryel was a card player and enjoyed bridge, pinochle and solitaire. She was part of bridge and other card clubs in Agar and in Texas where she wintered. She loved her motorhome and considered herself a “winter Texan”. She made many great friends from various parts of the country who wintered at the same Texas location. She also loved her cats as well as the poodles she raised.
Charryel is survived by her children Dawn (Lee) Kleinschmidt of Harrold, SD, Kim Jost of Agar, SD, Tami Schreiber of Murdo, SD and Bruce Schreiber of Agar, SD as well as 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Mildred Lytle; brother Warren Lytle; sister Arla Smith; and grandson Jonathan Fanger.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made out to Paws Animal Rescue in Pierre.
