Steven John Joachim, 62 of Spearfish, SD, passed away on February 21, 2020.

Steve was born February 17, 1958, in Agar, South Dakota to Donald and Kathleen (Johnson) Joachim. He was also given another birthdate, April 25, 2012, in which he was given his life back to him after having a kidney transplant. Steve married Ann Kline on June 6, 1986.

Steve was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Spearfish. He served the parish as youth counselor for many years.

Steve worked for Homestake Mining Company until the mine shut down. He worked various jobs until he got the news that he was in acute kidney failure.

He loved to go deer and pheasant hunting and fishing. He mostly loved coaching soccer and watching those players develop to who they are today. He also loved his two sports teams – the Chicago Cubs and the Seattle Seahawks.

Honorary Pallbearers are Mark Joachim, Brian Joachim, Dave Ludwig, and Tyler Johnson, as well as the community of Spearfish and the soccer community.

Steve is survived by the true loves in his life: wife, Ann; daughter, Meggan; and son, Drew. He is also survived by his brothers Jim and Mark; his sisters, Janet, Sharon, and Martha; as well as seven nephews and four nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Kathleen Joachim, and grandparents, Alvin and Lillian Joachim.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish, SD.
