Dale Eide, 58, of Pierre passed away at home on March 20, 2020, after a courageous battle with liver cancer. Due to the Covid-19 virus outbreak the family will hold a memorial service at a later date to honor Dale’s life.
Dale Edward Eide was born on October 22, 1961, in Minneapolis, MN, to Allen “Al” Sr. and Nancy (Brickman) Eide. He was raised in Bloomington, MN, where he played hockey and baseball. He enjoyed being mischievous and a prank was never out of the question.
Dale worked for Dayton Rogers Manufacturing for 20 years. He enjoyed racing cars at Raceway Park, fishing at Mille Lacs Lake, bowling, and going to horse races with his dad at Canterbury Park.
In 2001, he moved to Pierre, SD, to be with the love of his life Jackie. Dale was a wonderful grandfather and loved spending time with his grandchildren boating and tubing. He worked a few different places before he began working for the State of South Dakota, where he planned on retiring. He was dependable and a hard-working man.
Dale is survived by his wife Jackie, mother Nancy Eide, father-in-law Al Meier, children Juliane (Travis) Heuertz, Angela Eide, and Joseph (Liz) Eide, siblings Allen Jr. (Ann) Eide, Debbie (Kris) Ratzlaff, Denise Cheever, and Danny Eide, grandchildren Kieran, Ely, Bryson, Hayley, and Joey, bonus grandchildren Allison, Ryder, Dane, and Huxley, and many nieces and nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by father Allen Eide Sr., mother-in-law Norma Meier, brother-in-law Jim Cheever, and grandson Brendan Heuertz.
