Robert "Bob" Andrew Schieckoff

Robert “Bob” Andrew Schieckoff, Sr., 68, peacefully passed away at his home in Box Elder on Thursday, February 4, 2021.

Bob was born on May 5, 1952 to August and Eva “Lorraine” (Wagner) Schieckoff, in Hoven, SD. Bob was the second of six children. Bob graduated from Onida High School in 1970 and joined the United States Marine Corp in 1972. During his four years on active duty, he traveled to many overseas locations while he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After leaving active duty, Bob joined the reserves and then the Army National Guard. Bob was married on April 24, 1976 to Shanda Marie Thornhill and together they had three children, Robert Andrew Jr., Spring Rose and Rebecca Lynn. Bob was remarried to Doris Marie Lewis on April 5, 1996. They were happily married until her death December 27, 2009.

Bob had many careers during his life, but mostly he spent his time as a truck driver. He spent many years over the road and by the end of his career he drove locally. During his life he had many passions and was active in many organizations. He was an avid motorcycle rider until he lost his leg. He loved the Minnesota Vikings, John Deere Tractors, playing cards and gambling. He never found a scratch ticket or slot machine he didn’t enjoy.

Bob is survived by his three children: Robert Andrew Schieckoff, Spring Rose Moore (Jason) and Rebecca Lynn Schieckoff all of Box Elder, SD; four grandchildren: Zachary (Myth) Milliken, Michael Jones, Taylor Jones and Devon Jones; two step grandchildren: Danikla Moore and Peyton Moore; two great grandchildren: Nimue Milliken and Atlas Milliken; his siblings, Fredrick (Mary) Schieckoff, Margaret Aschwege, Clifford (Vicki) Schieckoff, Lily (Doug) Mitchell, Susan (Gary) Parker, and Pam Schieckoff; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; his parents; and grandparents.

Celebration of Life Services were held Thursday, February 11, 2021 with Pastor Brent Woodard officiating Followed by burial at Black Hills National Cemetery.
