The Sully Buttes Charger football team beat the New Underwood Tigers in the first round of the 9A state football playoffs held last Friday in Onida.

The Chargers outpaced the Tigers on both offense and defense, netting a total of 378 offensive yards while holding their opponent to just 186 yards of offense. Through the air, Sully Buttes had 101 yards, New Underwood less than 25.

The second round playoff game will also be in Onida, since the SBHS team is the top seed. The Chargers will host the Warner Monarchs on Thursday, October 31st.That game starts at 7:00 p.m.
