The Chargers Boys Cross Country team displays the hardware they received  for their Yellowstone Trail Conference win.

The Sully Buttes Cross Country team competed at the Central South Dakota/Yellowstone Trail Conference Cross Country meets in Gettysburg on October 9th. In the Central South Dakota Conference, Dani Frost placed 2nd with a time of 21:08, Calleigh Chicoine placed 7th with a time of 22:06 and Nevaeh Miller placed 12th with a time of 23:44. In the team points, the Chargers had 16 for 2nd place and Potter County had 13 for the championship. Heidi Olson of Mobridge-Pollock was the winner with a time of 19:53.

In the Yellowstone Trail Conference results, Dani Frost placed 2nd, Calleigh Chicoine placed 5th and Nevaeh Miller placed 8th. Potter County won the team title with 10 points, followed by the Chargers’ 12 points. Devon Archambault won the individual title with a time of 21:05.

In the Boys Central South Dakota Conference race, Griffin Petersen won the conference title, in a thrilling race with Blaise Thompson of Mobridge-Pollcock. Petersen’s time was 18:12.56 and Thompson’s time was 18:12.77! Darion Osterkamp placed 6th with a time of 18:57. Quinn Jordre ran a time of 20:58 but did not place. In the team title race, Mobridge-Pollock won with 14 points, Miller was 2nd with 26 and Sunshine Bible and Sully Buttes tied for 3rd with 30 points.

In the Yellowstone Trail Conference, Griffin Petersen also won the conference title placing 1st, Darion Osterkamp placed 3rd and Quinn Jordre placed 12th. The Sully Buttes boy’s team won the team title with 14 points and Potter County was 2nd with 15 points.

The Chargers will compete at the Region 4B Cross Country Meet on Wednesday, October 16th at 1:00 p.m. The order of races will be varsity girls, varsity boys and junior varsity boys and girls combined.
